Listed by many one of
the best underground bands of all time, Jimmy Luxury and Tommy Rome
have enjoyed
their voyages around the world taking months at a time in villas from
Salvador Brasil to Amsterdam.
Their new disk is a wild romp of latin music with explosively
energetic beats and singing.
Welcome to the world of Jimmy Luxury and Tommy Rome. They spent three
months of last year in Paris and Italy
and over ten months in latin america collecting sounds and ideas for
the new disc. As a result, there
are horns and more horns. Cha Cha Chas, Marumbas, twists and straight
up hip hop merengue mixes.
Also, Tommy wanted desperately to put more of his italian heritage in
the mix and found Micaela Saxer (from Perugia Italy)
to bust a few choruses in Italian (but old, old, old skool sounding
italian ballads). And since Micaela is native
peruvian, they also busted into a bunch of spanish as well. Mi
Corazón, Mi Corazón.
Even Tommy sprinkles on a little love in Italian, watch out world,
these guys can kick it in Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and
French.
The new album "Hotels,
Limousines and Lawnchairs"
is ready to be previewed. Completed in May
2002, it is a wildly upbeat mix of hip hop, latin music and scratchy
old timy elements. Already
well reviewed by members of the press, this album will be blowing up
soon at record stores near you.

Tour planned:
Jimmy Luxury will be playing festivals throughout Europe this
summer 2002, look for them in Spain, France, Switzerland and other
countries.
The first show is July 20th in france at a festival with De La Soul,
Iggy Pop, Manu Chao
and others. Check out the Vieilles Charrues festival.
